How do i jump start weightloss again from this long plataeu 2010-09-03 05:10:03

I lost 100 lbs. Need to lose 20 more. Haven't lost anything in 8 months. I currently workout twice a day(2hours total). I do cardio in the AM and Weights in the PM. I do high intensity cardio often. I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day but recently increased that to 1500-1700 daily because I gained about 5 lbs and so I figured my body wasn't losing because I wasn't fueling it enough and my metabolizm slowed down. But now I put on another 1-2 lbs since then and I want to take a week off from everything to restart. But how do I restart after this week? I would naturally go back to my routine but am I over doing it? Can someone help me with a healthy routine that will lead to losing the additional 20 lbs and make me toned and lean?
I currently am weighing 161 lbs(started 261 in October 2007). Over the past 8 months my body was consistant at 155 lbs without fail. I haven't changed anything too drastic. I do change my workout routine every 1-2 months.. I do agree that I am over training probably and I have a lot of fear around gaining weight or doing the wrong thing. I freak out sometimes and cut a lot of calories for 2 weeks then bring it back to 1400-1500.. I just tend to over think and over do everything.

2 of my friends i know were sick a few months ago, and this cause them to lose A LOT of weight. They didn't diet or exercise, or stop eating, they just became very sick and lost all their fat. I think my friend is too skinny now. They both had pretty large boobs, i think one of them was a double D and now she's down to an A!don't think there was throwing up involved or anything. Just wondering if anyone knew what this was, what causes it and how to cure it. Better yet, how to avoid it. Best answer given. Thank you. :) x

I realised that the main problem with my weight loss is that its quite difficult to lose the weight, but I always manage to get there. The REAL problem is that I can't maintain it, I ALWAYS go back to the weight I was before and I have to start all over again. I already know that they say that exercise will help you maintain your weight, if that's true what kind of exercise is good for this and how often would I have to do it? I already tried exercising an hour on my bike everyday, I don't think it helped much...

I am a male. I am 5'7". I am 36 yo. I was losing 1-2lbs a week up until the last two months. I have been at 240lbs since then.

I decreased my calories to as much as 1800 (+300 for exercise) calories per day and my weight actually started going up when I decreased my calories, I went to about 245lbs.

I increased my calories to 2200 (+300 for exercise) and my weight dropped to 240lbs and has stayed there.

I exercise on my elliptical for 30 to 40 min for 5-6miles, four days a week. So I add in ~300 calories for the exercise routine.

I have also noticed that when I eat around 1800 calories I felt weak, especially when exercising. I feel a lot better with my calories at 2200 calories, especially again when exercising.

I am ready for my weight to start declining again. Does anyone have any suggestions, specifically if I am eating too many calories or too little calories?

Hello im 13 years old and i am fat, (The typical fat kid, you see at school) and i was just wondering if this weight loss process day by day is good enough if i just stick to breakfeast, lunch and dinner.

Day 1: Do 350 calories (40 minutes for me) on the crosstrainer and 20situps.
Day 2: Do 30minutes on the tredmill and then do 25calories on the crosstrainer followed by 20situps.
Then repeat for a whole other 5 days. Basically once a night.

If i stick to a diet of a maximum of 2000calories per day, how much could i lose?
Im willing to change my maximum intake and stuff by a little.

Any help would be greatly apprehiated.
Im just getting into that stage were i feel like going out with girls and stuff (You know. Typical Teenage thing).

Ok, so I'm getting married in June of 2011 and I realize that I have plenty of time to lose weight, but I wanted to be slimmer when I go try on dresses for the first time. I'm going in June of 2010 and would like to weigh at least 20 lbs less. I am ready to workout and eat right, but I really can't find the right motivation. I realize that the dress and wedding itself should be motivation enough, but it's not working since I keep thinking about how far off it is.

Please give me some advice and/or some exercise options for those who are unmotivated. (I'm not lazy, once I get started I'm solid, I just don't know how to really get into it!)

Hi, my name is Steven, I currently weigh 345lbs, I am 6'2", 18 years old, and a large bone structure, people say I don't look a pound over 260, but I decided I want to start losing extra body fat because of the health risk, my father was a diabetic, so I probably could become one as well if I don't lose, I would like to know any information you can give me for weight loss, I have a stationary bike, and two dumbell bars with up to 30lbs of weight for them, the problem is though, I am unsure about a few things, like, how long should I ride the bike per day? how often should I lift the dumbells? tips about that would be greatly appreciated, also another thing, my current living situation, I really can't keep a lot of healthy foods in the house (brothers, cousin etc.) but I can control my calorie intake, I really can't do the six meals per day thing, reason being we don't always have that much food in the house and also, my schedule won't allow that, I only have time to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and no time for snacks, what is a good routine that could help me out here? any information on how I can lose this extra weight and make my life more healthy and enjoyable is much appreciated.

I have been dieting for over a month now and had lost around 9-10 lbs but this past week we had school off and I've been eating crap loads and gained 3-4 lbs back. I feel sluggish and icky and I've decided to do the master cleanse starting tomorrow to clean out my system and get rid of the weight I gained.

I'm determined to do it, so please don't try to change my mind, I've already prepared the drink and all for tomorrow.

my question is, after I get off the cleanse and go back to my usual routine when I was losing weight and start exercising more again (during the cleanse I'll only be doing 2 hours of tennis + 1 hour of gym a week) as in 2 hours of tennis and 2 hours of gym + another hour cardio at home, will I be able to continue to lose weight or will I gain it all back?

I'm not doing this cleanse solely to lose weight, but more to cleanse out all this junk I've put in it for the last week and to rid myself of these nasty cravings and my sluggish feelings.

so will I be able to continue losing weight or not? experience please

my current goal is to lose 1 pound a week, at the least. assuming my eating is right, what do you think of a walk around the block for half an hour in the morning (hills included), another in the afternoon, and a 20 minute walk on the treadmill at night? (not right before bed)?

now i'm sure running would yield faster results, but i want a plan that makes sense to me and that I can stick with. sure i can run, jog, sure mabyi could work up to 45 minutes? but am i likely to stick with it? no i'm not, so if you were gearing up to say "oh, walking that will get you nowhere try jogging or running", then please do not.

Hello I am a 29 yr old female. My birthday is coming up in July. I am about 5'1 and I weigh 215. I have 4 children and we are now done. I want to get back down to at least 140 lbs by my 30th b-day. I have been running on the treadmill for like 30-45 min after work and/or at lunch time. I have been trying to change my eating habits, but for a mom on the go it's very hard to cook. And I LOVE fountain drinks. I am really determined to lose this weight and I want to do it right so that I don't just gain it all back, and I dont want to get bored and giveup. I would like detailed suggestions. Like what to eat that is fast to make. Hey guys! I used to be around 205 in 5th grade. (holy shit I know) Now I am around 185 and a senoir in highschool. I still feel fat. I want to get a six pack or atleast close to it. I used to weight 165 in freshman year but recently I packed on some weight. Most of it fat not muscle. I was hoping for maybe a wrestlers type diet.

I was wondering what foods I should be eating and not eating. I want to go completely strict. Im making this a lifestyle change I hope and have no problem limiting sweets for pretty much ever except for maybe christmas. I have pretty good self control I think.

So when I joined the gym, my membership consultant said that the best time to workout is in the morning because firstly, you get it out of the way and secondly because it boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day or something like that?

So he advised coming to the gym at like 7am, working out for an hour or so and then having a good breakfast. The problem is that as I am overweight and trying desperately hard to lose weight without much success, I feel very very guilty about eating after I workout I feel that if I eat anything, all the hard work I've done would have been for nothing. But obviously I cannot, not eat especially when I have work and uni and other stuff to do after the gym.

So what is a good breakfast to have after going to the gym that is healthy, low-cal, which will get me off to a good start for the day but not make me feel too guilty about eating?

I'm on new medications, Xanax xr, effexor xr, and trazodone and I'm not hungry at all. On an average day I eat water and popcorn, water and cereal, or something like apple or orange juice, a few grapes. Not very much, my average calories are between 200-500 normally. Yesterday during gym class I weighed in at 150lbs and my height is 4'11. This morning I drank some water took my meds, and some apple juice I think. Then I went to the bathroom and weighed myself and I was at 147 already. Is this bad? I know I'm overweight now and I am glad I am losing the weight, but how do I stop losing the weight after I have lost what I needed? And I am not even very active, but I continue losing weight.
Should I be worried?
i..can't eat more than 500. it's super hard to get me to eat 200/300. whenever i eat i am not very hungry for ..high calorie things. and when i do eat it isn't very much because i get full so easily.

i was about 120lbs before all my meds, when istarted wellbutrin, that didnt work so i started lexapro and risperdal and gained like 30 lbs, no joke. and then i was put on this and as soon as the meds made me feel better i lost my appetite and started losing again

im a teenager... so think bout it.
Im 5"6, 150 lbs. heavy chested, athletic body.... blah blah. ok now this is what i need your help for, i need to loose wieght and breast. i play basketball and umm i def not girly and i hate my boobs, i know im crazy bc its every girls dream to be a 34d.... well its no fun in my situation. ok i play basketball,volleyball, and softball. ok so i do a WHOLE lot of running... a WHole WHOLE lot. and its much harder while i am my size. and the reason i the size i am is because 7 months ago i broke my ankle, and i just recently got off crutches and i have had really no physical exercise. and im still not allowed to run or jump. i can walk but thats bout it.(o yeah, and swim!) & im starting to feel very uncomfortable with my size. and i really need help. please...... and i eat so much. and im trying to cut down... but please dont give me just a diet, but everything.

Im 15 years old and play highly competitive soccer. I am extremely fit and train for soccer everyday. I also complete 100 sit ups and push ups everyday as well as several other abdominal stretches. I eat very little junk food and have a relativly good balance of my food groups. I am by no means fat or even the slightest bit overweight but when I bend over i still get a few rolls in my stomach and do not feel completly comfortable in my body. I look at other teenagers my age who do less than half the work I do and eat alot more junkfood but seem skinnier than me. How is this possible and are there any other things on top of all that im doing that can help lose a few kgs.

Okay, so I've had bad acne on my face for about a year and a half and I started getting it in embarrassing places like my back and chest about 6 months ago so I went to the doctor and he gave me some prescription face cleanser that didn't work so I went back again and he put me on antibiotics. This was just under two months ago and I ran out of antibiotics so I got some more from the chemist. I haven't missed taking them, ever, but they don't seem to be working one bit.

What else can I do and will the antibiotics ever work?

Also regarding the weight loss I'm overweight and I'm looking for some good weight loss tips, anyone know of any?

I'm 13 turning 14 in less then three weeks if that helps with either of these questions?
Sorry, for anyone talking about acai berry or anything like that, I'm not going to take any pills or anything, I wouldn't be allowed by my parents so unless there is a way to get it without my parents finding out i won't be able to, so any ways I can do it without having to buy anything and stuff I can do at home.
